How to email a contact from their page

Pick a template, edit it, and send it from your Gmail or your own email app.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.03

You can write to any contact with an email address straight from their page, starting from one of your email templates. The email is logged on their Communications card.

1. Write it

  1. Open the contact from People › Contacts & acts.
  2. Under their details, click Email from template.
  3. Choose a template in Template. GigTools fills in the merge fields: their first name, their company, your signature, and campaign fields like {avails} (your open dates).
  4. Change anything you like in Subject and Message.

No templates yet? Click Create one, or see How to create email templates.

2. Send it

  • From Gmail: if you've connected Google and turned on Send client emails from this Gmail, click Send from Gmail. It goes from your address, lands in your Gmail Sent folder, and is logged on the contact.
  • From your own email: click Open in email app, or use Copy subject and Copy message. After you send it, click Log as sent so it shows on their Communications card.

Click Hide email to close the box.

Assistants don't see the email button. The contact needs an email address on file.
