How to let GigTools support see your account (and see what they looked at)

Support can't see inside your account unless an owner turns on support access, for a day or a week. Every visit is listed for you.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.133

GigTools staff can't see your gigs, contacts, money or messages. When you want support to look at something in your account, an owner lets them in for a set time, and you can see everything they opened.

1. Turn it on

  1. Open Settings › Organization (the Details tab) and find GigTools support access.
  2. Optionally say what to look at (like "My March invoices show the wrong total").
  3. Choose 24 hours or 7 days and click Turn on.

You can also tick Let GigTools support see [your organization] for 7 days when you send a message from Contact support. Only owners can turn it on.

2. While it's on

Someone from support can open your account as an admin, so they can see what you see and fix things with you. They aren't added to your team list, don't get your notices, and don't use a seat. The card shows when it ends and whether someone from support is in your account right now.

3. Turn it off

It turns itself off when the time is up. To end it sooner, click Turn off now; anyone from support who's in your account is taken out of it immediately.

4. See what support did

Support access history on the same card lists every time access was turned on or off, when support opened and left your account, and each page they looked at (for example /gigs/… or /contacts/…), with who and when. Owners and admins can see it.

Good to know

  • Outside support access, GigTools staff see only what's needed to run the service: your organization's name, plan, billing status, how many gigs and contacts it has and when it was last used. They see counts of the emails GigTools sent for you, not who you emailed or what the subject was.
  • See the Privacy Policy for more.
