How to use the AI assistant

Ask questions about your gigs, get how-to help, and have the assistant add gigs, contacts and tasks for you.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.03

The AI assistant answers questions about your own gigs, contacts, tasks and inquiries, shows you how to do things in GigTools, and can add gigs, contacts, clients and tasks for you after you check them. It's included with the Pro and Agency plans.

1. Open it

Click the round chat button at the bottom right of any page (on a phone, it sits just above the bottom menu bar). Type your question in the box and press Enter.

Not sure what to ask? The assistant suggests questions that fit the page you're on, like "What's still unpaid on this gig?" on a gig page.

2. What you can ask

  • About your data: "What gigs do I have in the next two weeks?", "Which tasks are overdue?", "When did I last work with them?", "Which inquiries haven't been answered?"
  • How to: "How do I put my calendar on my website?" It answers from these help articles.
  • Add things: "Add a task to call the Rotary Club next Monday." The assistant shows a card with what it will add. Check it and click Create, or skip it. Nothing is added until you click.

It only helps with GigTools and your gigs. Questions about other things are declined, and after a few of those in a day it pauses for you for 24 hours.

3. Your chats

  • Minimize keeps the chat; click the button to come back. Close ends it.
  • New chat starts over.
  • Recent chats shows your 10 most recent chats, kept for 30 days. Click one to pick it up again, or delete it. Only you can see them.

4. Move the button out of the way

  • Drag the button anywhere up the left or right edge of the screen. It stays there on that device.
  • Double-click it to put it back in the corner.
  • From the keyboard: focus the button and press Alt + arrow keys to move it, or Alt + 0 to put it back.

5. Limits

Each person can ask a set number of questions a day, and there's an overall monthly limit. If you reach one, the assistant tells you; try again tomorrow, or search the help articles.

6. Choose who can use it (owners and admins)

  1. Open Settings › Organization and click the Team tab.
  2. In the AI assistant card, tick the roles that can use it: Admins, Agents, Assistants. Owners always can.
  3. Click Save.

Everyone can use it until you change this. People whose role is turned off don't see the button. Assistants never see money in its answers.

On other plans, owners and admins see the button with a short description and a See plans link.
