How to track commission and send acts a statement

Set your commission, see what you've earned on every act's gigs, and print each act a statement.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.74

Commissions (under Business in the menu) works out your commission on each act's booked and completed gigs, from the act's fee on each gig.

1. Set it up

At the bottom of the Commissions page, under Commission settings:

  • Usual commission (%), like 15.
  • How you collect it:
    • I take it out of what I pay the act (you're paid by the client and pay the act their fee less your commission). Act payouts then shows what you owe each act after commission.
    • Acts are paid directly and pay me. You bill the act your commission and record what they pay you.

A different percent for one act: open the act's statement and change its commission. For one gig: on the gig, open the act's pay (Pay or edit) and set Commission (%). The gig's percent wins, then the act's, then your usual one.

2. See what you've earned

Pick a year. The top shows the acts' fees, your commission and, depending on how you collect it, what's been paid out to acts or what acts still owe you. Each act shows its gigs, fees and commission; click one for its statement.

3. An act's statement

The statement lists each gig (date, gig, client, fee, commission, what the act keeps or is due, and what you've paid them), with totals. Click Print or save as PDF to send it to the act.

When acts pay you directly, record each payment under Commission received: amount, date, how and a note. The statement shows the balance. Remove one entered by mistake with the trash icon.

Commissions are on the Pro and Agency plans, for owners and admins.
