How to sort clients and venues by business type

Tag each client or venue with the kind of business it is (like Faith › Church) to filter your list and target campaigns.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.03

Business types say what kind of place a client or venue is: a church, a casino, a 55+ community, a corporation. Use them to filter your list and to pick who gets a campaign.

Types come in two levels: a group and the types inside it, shown like Faith › Church or Senior living › 55+ Community. Every account starts with the same list, from Faith, Senior living and Business to Hospitality & entertainment, Community & civic, Education, Nonprofit & health and Other.

1. Give a company its types

  1. Open the client or venue in Clients & venues and click Edit on Details (or start a new one with Add new).
  2. Under Type of business, click a group to open it.
  3. Tick every type that fits. A church with a 55+ ministry can be both. The number next to a group shows how many you've ticked in it.
  4. Your picks show as chips above the groups. Click a chip to remove it.
  5. Click Save changes.

The types show as chips next to the company's name. Click one to see every company of that type.

2. Filter your list

  1. Open Clients & venues.
  2. In Type of business, pick a single type, or All for a whole group (for example All Faith).
  3. Pick All types to clear it.

The filter works together with the Clients / Venues tabs and the search box.

3. Use them in campaigns

On Pro and Agency, campaigns and contact lists can pick people by business type:

  • A campaign's audience has Business types checkboxes. Tick a group to include all its types.
  • A contact list has Everyone at a type of business or in a state to add everyone who matches.
