How to use the GigTools phone app

What you can do in the GigTools app for iPhone and Android: your gigs and Inbox, adding and editing gigs, people and venues, answering offers, and help.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.363

The GigTools app for iPhone and Android works with the same account and the same gigs as the website. Sign in the same way you do on the website. Everything you change in the app is saved the same way as on the website, with the same rules.

1. What's in the app

  • Home: what's coming up and what's waiting on you.
  • Gigs and the calendar.
  • Inbox: tick off or snooze tasks, and answer inquiries. See How to use your Inbox.
  • Search, and Help and support, with the How-to articles that matter on a phone.
  • Account: your phone notifications, and Delete my account.

2. Add a gig

Tap + for Quick gig: the act, date, start time, client or venue, city and fee. Got the booking in an email or a text? Paste it in and GigTools fills in what it finds (Pro and Agency). Tap Add full details for the whole New gig form: the acts, client and venue, show times, the booking fee and deposit, sound, lights and stage (all start on Venue), and whether it's published and open to the public (both on to start). See How to add a gig.

3. Change a gig

Open the gig to change its step, move a show time, edit the public and private notes, add flights, hotels and rides, or send the offer to an act. Tap Edit the gig for the whole form, filled in. See On your phone in How to edit a gig. On a gig you can edit, Agreement and invoices shows where the agreement stands, with Send a reminder and Send an invoice (see How to send a client an invoice). After the show: Rate and thank the acts (see How to rate and thank the other acts), and the End of the night card for the payment, a receipt photo and the miles. In Show mode, Record my set saves a recording to your own Google Drive (see How to record your set on your phone).

4. People, clients and venues

Add a person, client, venue or booking source from the app, or change their details. The same checks as the website keep out duplicates and follow your plan's limits. See How to add contacts and How to add clients, venues and booking sources.

5. Answer an offer

When you're on a gig, tap I'm in or Can't make it on it. If you have a seat in your booker's organization, the Are you in? notification has those buttons too, so you can answer without opening the app. See How to ask acts to confirm a gig.

6. Notifications

On the app's Account tab, switch each kind of notification on or off. See How to choose your notifications.

7. When something goes wrong

If the app hits an error or closes, it sends GigTools a short report (what failed, the app version and iPhone or Android) so we can fix it. It doesn't send your gigs, contacts or anything you typed. To ask for help, use Help and support in the app or the support form.

Assistants can look at everything in the app (without money) but can't add or change gigs, people or venues.
