How to record your set on your phone
Record a show in the GigTools phone app and save it to your own Google Drive, listed on the gig.
Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.363
Record your set in the GigTools phone app. Recordings are saved to your own Google Drive, not on GigTools, and the gig's Documents card lists them with a Play button.
1. Connect Google Drive (once)
- On the website, open Settings › Connections & automations.
- In Google: Gmail, Calendar & Drive, click Connect Google (or, if Google is already connected, Connect Google Drive).
- Allow GigTools to see the files it saves to your Drive. It can't see anything else in your Drive.
Each person connects their own Google account. Recordings always go to the Drive of the person who recorded them.
2. Record
- Open the gig in the phone app and go into Show mode.
- Tap Record my set. Keep the phone somewhere it can hear the stage.
- Tap stop when you're done. The app saves it to your Google Drive, in GigTools Recordings › the gig's name and date, and says "Saved to your Google Drive".
Recordings take about 29 MB an hour. On a slow connection it can take a little while to upload; keep the app open until it says it's saved.
Haven't connected Google Drive? The app tells you to connect it first, and you can still share or save the recording from your phone.
3. Listen
4. Remove one
Click Edit on the Documents card, the trash button next to the recording, then Remove from gig. That only takes it off the gig: the file stays in your Google Drive until you delete it there.
You can add recordings to gigs you can change (not to canceled or lost gigs), on plans with gig documents.
