How to set up a show series
Turn a gig into a recurring show, like every Monday at the same venue, and keep the next weeks created for you.
Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.03
A show series is a show that repeats, like a weekly comedy night or a monthly residency. GigTools keeps the next few weeks of shows created for you. Each show is its own gig, so you can change one week without touching the others.
Find your series under Business › Show series. Owners, admins and agents can set them up.
1. Start from a gig
- Create the first show as a normal gig, with its venue, times, notes and money. See How to add a gig.
- Open it, find the Schedule card and click Make this a recurring show.
2. Set the schedule
- Give it a Series name, like "Monday Night Comedy".
- Choose How often: Every week, Every other week, Once a month (pick Which week, like 1st or Last) or Only on dates I choose.
- Choose the Day and Show time, the First show date and an optional Last show.
- Choose Create shows ahead (4 to 52 weeks).
- Add Extra one-off dates or Skip these dates (holidays, venue closed) if you need them.
- Tick Copy the lineup to put the same acts and crew on new shows, waiting for each of them to confirm.
- Choose whether New shows start as Booked or Lead.
- Click Create series.
3. Manage the series
Open the series from Show series to see:
4. Update upcoming shows
One show is the Template. Click Use as template on another show to change it. Then click Update all upcoming shows from the template… and Yes, update them to copy its name, notes, public settings, production details, ticket prices and money lines to every upcoming show. Each show keeps its own lineup, times and tickets sold.
