How to hold a date for a client

Put a 1st, 2nd or 3rd hold on a lead's date until a day you choose, and get reminded before it runs out.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.75

A hold keeps a date for a client who's still deciding, without booking it. Holds are for gigs at the Lead step.

1. Put a hold on a date

  1. Open the lead. Under the step bar, find Hold the date.
  2. Pick 1st hold, 2nd hold or 3rd hold, and Until (the last day you'll hold it).
  3. Click Save. The gig shows 1st hold until … at the top and in the gig list.

To take a hold off, pick No hold and save. Booking the gig, or marking it lost or canceled, ends the hold too.

2. What happens next

  • Two days before the hold ends, you get a task: book it, give it more time (change Until), or let the date go.
  • When it runs out, the hold comes off and you get a task. The gig stays a lead.
  • The next hold moves up. If another lead holds the same date for the same act, its 2nd hold becomes a 1st hold, and whoever looks after it gets a task to tell that client.
  • If the date gets booked by another client with the same act, whoever holds it gets a task to let their client know.

The lead's page lists Also held that day for the same acts. Held dates aren't offered as open dates in campaigns' {avails}.

You can also move leads in and out of holds on the pipeline board.
