How to take donations

Donations (a tab of Tickets & patrons in the Venue menu) takes gifts for your venue. It's part of the Venue plan, and card gifts are paid to your Stripe account with no GigTools fee.

Settings

• Take donations on the public page adds a Give section to your join page: suggested amounts (or any amount), what it's for, a note, and "don't list my name".
• Offer "Add a donation" when people buy tickets adds a gift to the ticket checkout. Gifts with tickets aren't taxed, and aren't offered on shows where Stripe works out the sales tax.
• We're a tax-exempt nonprofit: enter your Legal name and EIN. Receipts then say the gift is from a tax-exempt organization and that no goods or services were given in exchange.
• Suggested amounts, an Intro for the giving page, a Note on receipts, and which campaign gifts with tickets go to.

Campaigns

A campaign is something specific to give to, like a new sound system, with an optional Goal and end date. The giving page shows its progress bar. Close takes it off the page.

Receipts

Every gift gets a numbered receipt (like 2026-0014), emailed to the donor, with a page they can print. Email receipt sends it again.

Record a gift

For cash or a check, click + Record a gift: who, how much, how it was paid, the date and the campaign. Tick Email a receipt to send one.

Refunds

Refund refunds a card gift from the giving page at Stripe. A gift made with tickets is refunded with its ticket order. A recorded gift can be marked refunded.

The year's gifts

Pick a year to see its gifts and totals. Download gives you a spreadsheet for your books. Email yearly summaries sends each donor one email with their gifts that year and the total, for their taxes.

Venue reports shows donations for the dates you pick.
