How to sell reserved and cabaret seats
Give a ticket type a seat map (rows of seats, or cabaret tables) so buyers pick their own seats, hold seats for acts, comps or the house, and see who's sitting where.
Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.182
Reserved seating is part of selling tickets to your own show (Member plan and up). Set up your ticket types first (see How to sell tickets to your own show), then open the show's Tickets page and the Seating tab.
Sections and prices
Each ticket type is a section with its own price, like Front tables $35 and Back rows $20. A ticket type without a seat map stays general admission, so you can mix the two (reserved tables up front, standing room at the back).
Add a seat map
Under a ticket type, click + Add a seat map and pick the layout:
Click Add the seat map. The ticket type's How many becomes its number of seats. You can change or remove a seat map until its first seat is sold.
What buyers see
On the event page (and the Tickets box on your website), a seated ticket type shows its map with the stage at the top. Buyers tap the seats they want; the number of tickets follows. Taken and held seats can't be picked. Their seats are held for them while they pay (about half an hour), and show on their tickets, in the email, on their tickets page and in Google Wallet, like "Front tables · Table 3, Seat 2".
Floor plan
Once a ticket type has a seat map, the Floor plan at the top of the Seating tab shows every seated section together, each in its own color, with the stage. Drag each table, row and the stage to where it is in the room (or tab to one and use the arrow keys), click More room if you need a taller room, then Save the floor plan. Buyers then pick their seats on your floor plan; on a phone it scrolls sideways. Reset to the automatic layout puts everything back in neat rows.
Hold seats
On the Seating tab, tap open seats and click Hold for an act, Hold for comps or Hold for the house. Held seats aren't sold online or at the door. Tap them again and click Release to put them back on sale.
Comp seats
To give someone particular seats, tap them on the seating chart (open or held), click Comp these seats, and enter their name, email (to send the tickets) and the reason. Comps from Comps & guest lists pick seats for you: held seats first, then the best seats left.
The seating chart
The chart shows every seat: open, held, sold, comp, or being paid for. Hover (or long-press) a sold seat to see who has it and whether they're checked in.
At the door
When selling at the door, tap Pick seats under a seated ticket type to choose seats on its map. Any tickets beyond the seats you pick get the best seats left. Scanning a ticket shows its seat, so door staff can point people to it.
When you copy a show's ticket setup to the rest of a series, its seat maps are copied too (without holds).
