How to book a comedy week

Book a headliner, feature and MC for a run of nights in one go. GigTools makes a show for each night and time, then copies one show's ticket setup to the rest.

Up to date as of GigTools version 2.1.185

A comedy week is one booking for a run of nights, like Thursday to Sunday with two shows on Friday and Saturday. It's part of the Venue plan.

Book the week

  1. Open Comedy weeks and click + New comedy week.
  2. Name it (usually the headliner; it's each show's name), and pick the first and last night.
  3. Under Show times, type each night's times, like 7:30 or 7:30, 9:45. Leave a night empty for no show. A time without am or pm is the evening.
  4. Pick the room, how long the show is and when doors open.
  5. Pick the Headliner, Feature and MC from your acts, with their pay and set length. Under Pay, choose Per show or For the week. Weekly pay goes on each act's first show, so payouts add up to the week.
  6. Click Book the week.

GigTools makes a show for every night and time, booked and public, in the room, with the acts confirmed.

The week's page

Each week has its own page with:

  • Shows: every show with tickets sold, money and check-ins. After changing the nights or times under Change nights and times, click Add missing shows. To drop a night, cancel that show from its page.
  • Tickets for the whole week: set up tickets on one show (prices, seating, add-ons), then pick it under Copy the ticket setup from and click Copy to the other shows. Only upcoming shows without tickets get them; shows that have sold tickets are never changed.
  • Housing: who's staying where (see How to house comics).
  • Lineup: the week's acts. To change one night's lineup, change that show.

Each show's Room card links back to its week.
